Kenny Hand, owner of KowaBunga Surf School has been teaching surf lessons at Wrightsville Beach for the past ten years. Kenny has also been an Instructor with the Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation Department for the past four years.

Kenny's talent is local. He's from Topsail Beach and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Marine Biology. Kenny is a CPR certified lifeguard, and has certifications in first aid and water safety.

His passion and experience for surfing has branched into a surf school. Kenny enjoys teaching students to appreciate marine ecology and respect for the environment while at the same time teaching surf lessons.

Charter fishing is another experience Kenny possesses, he also worked for the UNCW aquaculture program for 2 yrs fishing for flounder. He has been fishing the local waters around Wrightsville Beach for the past 25 years.

KowaBunga is fully licensed and insured.
